Former part-time professor, Jeff Hull, who has lectured at NESAD for the past 16 years, was one of the lecturers who did not return this fall.

“This summer a colleague of mine told me she received an email notifying her that she was not needed to work this semester. I was sympathetic, but I was sure that it couldn’t happen to me because students had already begun to register for my fall classes,” explained Hull. “I was shocked the next day when I received the very same email.”

Did you know that Suffolk has hired an alumni of their Soccer program as coach?

Even with the two victories under their belts and a recent controversial loss, the Lady Rams have struggled to light up the scoreboard offensively without recent graduate Leslie Hayden; but she can still help change that. The GNAC’s all-time regular season goal scorer joined Cleophat this year as his assistant head coach, hoping to help this team continue to be an important name in the conference she dominated for four years.

“I brought [Hayden] because of her knowledge of the game and her leadership as a former captain. Her former teammates were ecstatic about the news,” her new coaching partner said. It’s a role Cleophat is happy to have her in but it’s still an adjustment for Hayden to go from player to coach.

McCarthy discusses 'strategic planning' in second town hall

Today, as the start of Fenway Park’s 100th season has begun, Suffolk President James McCarthy announced the kickoff of the university’s strategic planning process at his monthly town hall meeting, which took place in the C. Walsh Theater.

With a packed room and at least 200 viewers watching on a Livestream.com feed, McCarthy presented the current state of the process, the members chosen for committee, as well as possible goals the committee could set for the university’s future. As the room quieted, McCarthy took to the stage in front of a screen displaying a PowerPoint presentation which read “Strategic Plan 2012-2017. Launch: April 5, 2012.”

The university is currently in the process of accreditation by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) which makes the strategic planning process critical. The data will be utilized to, according to a letter by McCarthy posted online, “inform the various NEASC committees, we will make sure to intentionally coordinate our efforts at critical milestones.”

Now, we have one to share, a place to put up Suffolk News, Arts, Sports and opinions around campus right onto your Tumblr dashboard!
